Return Policies
The return policy applies to books and merchandise purchased from the Missouri State Bookstore and any of its affiliate stores. Be sure to bring the original receipt when making returns or exchanges. All returns should be handled at the Customer Service counter in the Bookstore, or the checkout counter of the affiliate store.
General Merchandise
Any merchandise (non-textbook) such as clothing, gifts, souvenirs, supplies, etc must be returned within 30 days of the date of purchase, in new condition and must be in the original packaging. There is a 14 day waiting period for refunds on check purchases.
Textbooks
To receive a full refund or exchange, the following terms apply:

Textbooks must be returned no later than the end of the second week of classes for either the Fall or Spring semester, with receipt

Textbooks purchased after the first 2 weeks of classes must be returned within 2 business days from the date of purchase, with receipt

New textbooks must be in the original condition

Textbook Bundles with access codes must be unopened and the code unexposed

Textbooks purchased during the last two weeks of classes are non-refundable for a full refund.

Textbooks purchased for the summer semester must be returned by the end of the 1st week of classes, with receipt

Textbooks purchased for intersession must be returned by the end of the 2nd day of classes, with receipt
Any returns not meeting these terms are at the discretion of the bookstore and need to be approved by the textbook department
Please note:

Books that cannot be returned for a refund may be sold back during our end-of-semester buyback. The highest buyback amounts are typically given during finals week

Computer hardware, software and electronics

Items must have been purchased within the past three business days, with receipt.

Unopened items may be returned with a receipt.

Opened merchandise may be returned only if it is defective and will only be exchanged for the identical item. We will place a special order for any item being exchanged that is out of stock at time of transaction.

Any return involving a defective hardware item should be handled through the manufacturer warranty. Please contact the vendor directly.

After three business days, the customer is responsible for contacting the manufacturer regarding returns or exchanges.
Non-returnable items
These items may not be returned if opened.

- Consumables (includes, but not limited to: flash drives, CDs, ink cartridges, batteries)
